About Me.

I am a psychologist and PhD student at the University of Toronto's Institute of Medical Science and the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health. My thesis is supervised by Dr. Meng-Chuan Lai and Dr. Hsiang-Yuan Lin. We are investigating the interplay between self-regulation, social cognition and social adaptation in children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental conditions such as autism, attention-deficit/hyperativity disorder (ADHD), obsessive/compulsive disorder (OCD), intellectual disability, and others. I aim to become a psychologist clinician-scientist especialised in research and care of young people with neurodevelopmental conditions.

Previously (2019-2021), I completed a Master's in Research in Developmental Neuroscience and Psychopathology at University College London and the Anna Freud Centre in the UK. I joined the Sukhodolsky Lab at Yale University's Child Study Centre (CN, USA) to work on my master's thesis on the fMRI neural correlates of reactive aggression in a transdiagnostic sample of youth.

Before that (2015-2019) I studied an undergraduate degree in Health Psychology at the University of Navarra in my home country, Spain, where I first developed my interest in research. Studying abroad in the University of the Andes in Santiago de Chile (2018), I confirmed that I wanted to pursue postgraduate studies away from home to keep broadening my perspectives. I have been lucky to learn from different mentors worldwide ever since.
